Customer case: An investment that paid off

Samsonite translated its e-commerce platforms in Sweden, Finland and Denmark and saw sales of luggage increase by 117 % on one of those markets. ‘We are delighted with the results,’ says Marianne Selander, Nordic Category Marketing Manager at Samsonite.

Samsonite is market leader in the Nordic region in the travel luggage segment. A total of 89 % of consumers are aware of the brand, whose main competitors are Titan, Epic, Rimowa and Delsey. Samsonite recently localised its websites in Sweden, Finland and Denmark. 

The translation of the sites, which had previously only been available in English, was carried out by Amesto Translations. Since the translations were completed, sales have rocketed. Finland saw sales increase by 55 %, Sweden by 87 %, while in Denmark the figure was a staggering 117 %. ‘These figures represent some enormous surges, and it’s gratifying to see in black and white that the investment we made has definitely paid off. There were no other sales activities running concurrently, so the impact of this venture was easy to quantify,’ continues Marianne.
