Corporate Social Responsibility | Amesto Translations

Social responsibility – how does Amesto Translations approach it?

Amesto Translations strives to contribute to the sustainable development of society. We do this in a number of ways, such as through our CSV work, and by ensuring that our work places are characterised by good working conditions and as minimal an environmental impact as possible.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and CSV (Creating Shared Value) are concepts through which a company accepts its responsibilities for how it affects society through its day to day operations, from an economic, environmental and social perspective. These responsibilities go over and above laws and regulations – they are not something the company is required to consider, but rather something the company accepts it is accountable for in the framework of the Amesto Group’s overarching values. We have chosen to place a particular emphasis on the areas of human rights, working conditions and the environment.

Our collaboration with Doctors Without Borders

Amesto is proud to have a long-term strategic partnership with Doctors Without Borders, which involves financial support, pro bono work and spreading information about their activities. Doctors Without Borders, or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), was founded in Paris in 1971 by a group of doctors and journalists. The organisation is not affiliated with any political or religious groups and provides humanitarian aid in the form of medical services in crisis-hit regions.

As part of the partnership, the Amesto Group helps to improve efficiency in the organisation’s financial and administrative processes. As part of the Amesto Group, Amesto Translations contributes pro bono translations of web texts, articles, HR documents and many other types of text. In addition, we have provided the organisation with access to our secure machine translation tool.

Amesto + Giving people

In 2016 and 2017, Amesto Translations’ Group CEO Manuel Lindberg raised funds on behalf of the organisation Giving People. These funds help children of Swedish families for whom money is tight have something proper to celebrate Christmas.

For Christmas 2016, Manuel managed to collect SEK 15,000 which, via Giving People, was distributed to underprivileged Swedish families with young children. The money was used to buy food, clothes and toys which he then personally delivered to families selected by the organisation.

Manuel’s target for 2017 was to raise SEK 50,000, which would, in turn, give 100 children a better Christmas. For each Swedish krona donated via the initiative’s Facebook page “100 barn ska få en riktig jul”, Amesto Translations would match the amount, up to SEK 25,000. Manuel succeeded in raising SEK 25,000, and over 100 children celebrated Christmas knowing that there were presents under the Christmas tree. The fund raising was a private initiative started by Manuel, but was undertaken as an approved cooperation with Giving People and Amesto Translations.
